I am running for the board of directors of GACAR. For more than nine years, I have reaped the benefits of our association and now want to help other realtors learn about and take advantage of all the resources, education, and opportunities to serve others that our association offers. As a director I would like to enhance the current board of directors by bringing my experience as a realtor, real estate trainer, and productivity coach plus my experience and expertise as a licensed Florida attorney, a company executive, a Florida certified mediator, an insurance specialist, and a financial literacy educator and consultant. I pride myself on being a passionate, encouraging, and strong voice for fairness among our clients, co-workers, and brokers within the real estate industry and pledge to do the same as your director.
For those of you who have not been involved with GACAR in the past and may not know its purpose, here are some of the functions of the board:
1. Governs the staff at GACAR
2. Governs all the committees of GACAR
3. Promotes and selects education tools and classes (including CE)
4. Promotes realtors to our local and surrounding communities
5. Promotes and enforces ethics and professionalism within our local industry
6. Advocates for the real estate industry with our state, county, and local leaders
My Story
I have enjoyed a very diverse and interesting career including working as an executive at an insurance claims office, general counsel for a dot.com company, a human resources executive, a personal injury attorney, and president of my own company, Common Sense Resolutions, which offers services as a mediator, conducts seminars on dispute resolutions for employees and management, harassment and discrimination training, real estate compliance, and litigation matters.
My education begins with a bachelor’s degree in management, With Distinction, from Penn State University. Then, I pursued my juris doctorate degree, Cum Laude, from the University of Miami School of Law. Currently within GACAR, I volunteer as a member of the Professional Development committee and the Professional Standards committee.
For the last year I have attended most of the board of directors meetings to learn about the operation and needs of the board prior to becoming a director. I am also participating in the Leadership Academy of GACAR this year to further my involvement and future leadership in GACAR. My motto for running and becoming a director for GACAR is Professionalism to Action.
My Vision
My vision as a director is to bring a higher level of professionalism to our GACAR membership of realtors to improve our real estate transaction outcomes and foster a more compassionate, vibrant, competent, ethical, and relational experience between all brokerages and realtors.
If we can grow the level of professionalism within our industry, then I believe we can raise the level of realtor membership action and community help. My vision also includes increasing education and awareness for brokerages about workplace harassment, discrimination, management skills, and wage and hour laws.
I am asking for your vote to be your new director for GACAR.
